MERS疫情蔓延，南韓當局昨天將疫情等級，從「注意」上調到最高級的「嚴重」，世界衛生組織WHO也已經派員抵達南韓了解疫情，而美國疾病管理局則是對南韓發布旅遊注意警示，亞洲各國像是日本和香港也高度戒備。另外南韓今天也證實，一名40多歲的孕婦確診感染MERS，也成為首名孕婦被感染的案例。

南韓MERS疫情升溫，9日確診病患又增加8名，感染人數逼近百人，還傳出一名40多歲的孕婦在三星首爾醫院被感染，是疫情爆發以來，首名孕婦被感染的案例，同時南韓當局在9日將疫情等級從「注意」，上調到最高級的「嚴重」，為了減輕民眾醫療負擔，南韓政府宣布，無論是MERS疑似或確診病患，醫療費都由政府全額負擔，WHO也派專家到南韓了解當地疫情。

韓國政府高度戒備，美國疾病管理局也已經針對MERS疫情，對南韓發布旅遊注意警示，亞洲各國也嚴格把關，不只香港當局呼籲，日本政府也嚴陣以待，針對從韓返回日本的民眾加強把關，日本外交官員：「透過設立地方防衛小組，我們會盡最大的努力，提供訊息給海外的日本國民。」而台灣旅遊業者針對取消南韓旅遊的民眾，也放寬退費規定。
